Player of the Match : Kusal Mendis Bangladesh lost the second and final T20I against Sri Lanka by 90 runs. Sri Lanka sealed the 2-match series 2-0. Mahmudullah won the toss and opted to bowl first at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. It was Bangladesh’s first ever match at this venue. Mehedi Hasan and Abu Jayed Rahi made their T20 debut today also. Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka added 98 runs on the opening stand and gave Sri Lanka a flying start. Soumya Sarkar grabbed the wicket of Gunathilaka on 42 and broke the partnership. Despite losing couple of wickets in the middle overs, Sri Lanka batted aggressively throughout their innings and ended up posting 210 for 4 in 20 overs. Soumya, Mustafizur, Abu Jayed and Saifuddin shared one wicket each. Chasing 211, Bangladesh did not have the ideal start after losing three early wickets of Soumya and Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mithun for 22. Tamim Iqbal looked solid but Aponso got rid of him on 29. At 68 for 5, Bangladesh were in deep trouble. Then Mahmudullah and Saifuddin made an 42-run partnership in the sixth wicket. After the departure of Mahmudullah on 42, Bangladesh lost the next few wickets in quick-succession and were all out for 135 in 18.4 overs. Gunathilaka and Shanaka both claimed two wickets each.
