The 17th meeting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today. Some major outcomes from the meeting:

The Board has instructed the Chairmen to form full committees of their respective standing committees in the next two weeks. Chairmen of BCB Working Committee and BCB Security Committee will be named later.   

 

Salary Structure for Umpires

The Board has approved the proposed salary structure for 33 contractual umpires under the BCB’s payroll. The list includes one ICC Elite Panel (Grade A+), four ICC International Panel (Grade A), four BCB Elite Panel (Grade B), four women ICC Development Panel (Grade C), two Emerging Panel (Grade C), six First Class Panel (Grade C), seven BCB Emerging Panel (Grade C) and five Regional Panel umpires.

 Functions of Constitution Amendment Committee Brought to a Halt

The functions of the Constitution Amendment Committee, which had been formed in the 15th meeting of Board, has been brought to a halt. The Board will discuss and consult with all relevant stakeholders and refine the terms of reference and scope of work before proceeding further on the amendment.        

 Women’s BPL

The Board has initiated the EOI process for event management firms for the proposed first Women’s BPL.

 Welfare Fund

The Board has approved the formation of a Welfare Fund designed at supporting cricketers and persons who contribute to Bangladesh cricket in different capacities including organisers, officials and members of the media.
