Media Release : BCB extends heartfelt sympathies to families of Christchurch victims

Bangladesh National Team returns home on Saturday  

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is shocked and deeply saddened by today’s dreadful attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims and our thoughts are with them at this time of grave tragedy. The BCB wishes speedy recovery for those who have been injured.

The Board thanks New Zealand Cricket (NZC) for ensuring that members of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team are safe and secure in Christchurch. Both national cricket bodies acknowledge that playing in these difficult times is not a practical choice anymore and hence the decision to call off the third and final Test.

The Bangladesh Team is scheduled to arrive home tomorrow (Saturday) at BST 22h40. The BCB and NZC has worked together in making all necessary arrangements for bringing the team back to Dhaka as a matter of priority.
